Wimbledon Spectator Entrance

Now that football is officially not coming home, the World Cup seems all but a distant memory for England and so now it’s all about Wimbledon! In true Ultimate style, we went all out and hosted a Wimbledon themed party which came in perfect time to lift people’s spirits after the match between England and Croatia.

We adore turning our hands to anything creative, and hosting a Wimbledon-themed networking and general social event was the perfect opportunity to show off our creative flair.

From tennis rackets hanging from the ceiling and having a mid-afternoon Pimm’s to challenging our clients to a table tennis tournament and developing our own Wimblepong game (which you can play here!), we had it all going on in the office.

Mini Wimbledon

Inspired by the 1970’s arcade game Pong, our design team developed the look and feel of the game, including turning some of our team into characters of the game. Our development team then coded the game and turned it into the addictive, fun game that it is.

Ultimate game design Even our food and drinks were fully decked out and Wimbledon themed! On the morning of the big day, we were cutting up fresh fruit for the Pimm’s and decking out one of our boardrooms with cupcakes especially decorated with tennis balls, icing strawberries filled with jam and the obligatory cucumber sandwiches!

Of course, the main event was the table tennis tournament that took place between a mix of the Ultimate team and our amazing clients. All the way from China, Jessica of Amelia Knight showed us how it was done, pulling some real ping pong moves out of the bag.

Some took the game very seriously...

For some it was a nail biting experience...

But most of all, it was a laugh!

But one of the absolute highlights of the entire event was watching our MD Jon, reigning Ultimate table tennis champion, being thrashed by Steve Stockton, a ping pong county champion.

Thanks to all of our amazing clients for joining us and making the event a great success, here’s to the next one!

And don’t forget, if you couldn’t make it to our event, have a go on Wimblepong and get your name up on our leaderboard!
